I was in Vegas in February and went to the sports book at my hotel....I wanted to make the BIG BET!!
I thought the odds should be about 1000 to 1 against them winning next years Superbowl. Silly me...I only got 100 to one...meaning that my "Bigtime" bet of $10.00 is just worth $1000.00 when they win> |

Kansas City, Missouri has started using stoplight cameras as a profit center to finance a downturn in the economy as all of us get more frugal.
Here are a few of the things to look for... Stoplight cameras are most effective at collecting revenue when the intersection they are slightly different from other intersections ... a different duration of the yellow light, harder to view intersection lighting and different peripheral controls like different time-frame settings on devices like walking controls. ALL OF THESE ARE MONEYMAKERS AND THEY KNOW IT!! |

While President Obama is forcing Congress to make another quick decision to take money out of our pockets, the HEALTHCARE debate seems to be missing the main point.
The stated purpose is to make healthcare(healthinsurance) "more affordable". Somehow, increasing the insurance bureaucracy has never saved us money....remember the universal auto insurance requirement. If driver was required to have auto insurance on his vehicle(s) we were told that we would save money on our premium(no one mentioned that auto insurance sales had flat-lined before more were forced to buy. Now, it seems, if you are in an accident, the other driver still does not have insurance and we are being charged an extra 10% on our premiums for "Uninsured Motorists"---Put Criminals in Jail!! Don't charge me extra to support them!! I digress. Congress Has the chance to revamp the healthcare industry with the correct legislation....the part that needs to be addressed first are the sales of unnessary tests to pad the doctor's pockets..these tests often have nothing to do with the problem at hand except increasing doctor's and the hospital's cash flow!! |

This week, a rumor has surfaced that the ne administration(lead by President Obama) is considering a requirement that all houses sold must be brought to a certain energy efficiency standard before their transfer....this idea seems just to be another way to put the oppressive thumb of the government directly on the citizens that pay taxes to support it. I don't know about you, but, if I decide to sell my house, I need to bank the money not squander it on the next owner.
If this is really a consideration, why not require all new houses to be built to an efficiency standard. This expense would probably cut many prospective new-home-buyers out of the market and kill the new home construction business. |
